planistar can offer its customers a wide range of area lighting systems for industrial image processing. Whether matrix system or edge lighting system.
And if you cannot find a suitable luminaire in our extensive standard range, we will be able to offer you LED lighting based on your requirements.
As we are the manufacturer of the lights ourselves, we can offer customized lights with short delivery times and at attractive prices.
Thanks to an LED matrix system, this module achieves brightness levels for the light color white of approx. 200,000 lx in continuous operation and up to 1.7 million lx in flash mode.
The special feature of this module is that the backlight has been developed for continuous operation as well as for flash mode. This means that it can be set up in continuous mode and later operated in flash mode. The switching inputs react from 5 V TTL up to 24 V PLC to every rising edge.
No other external controllers are required, everything is built into the light. The internal microcontroller monitors the input signals during flashing. The flash lasts as long as the signal is present. For safety reasons, the light pulse is terminated after approx. 1.5 ms so as not to damage the LEDs. The next pulse is only released after an input pulse / pause ratio of 1:5.
The lighting can be equipped for a wide range of applications in industrial image processing in various white tones, but also in monochrome light colors from approx. 380 to 840 nm.
This assembly uses modern edge lighting. Our construction enables a flat design of only 20 mm. Nevertheless, illuminated surfaces from approx. 40 x 40 mm to approx. 1220 x 1880 mm can be realized in one unit.
In light fittings with light guides, the LEDs are only located at the edges. The sophisticated light guide achieves extremely homogeneous illumination at a lower price compared to matrix lighting. The lower use of LEDs is particularly noticeable in the price of large illuminated areas.
This module also supports both operating modes. This means that it can also be set up in continuous mode and later operated in flash mode. The switching inputs react from 5 V TTL up to 24 V PLC to every rising edge. A 1-10 V interface has also been integrated.
No additional external controllers are required, everything is built into the light. For large luminaires in particular, it is important to us that capacitor packs are integrated to provide the required current for flashing. This reduces the absorption current in the supply line (EMC safety, voltage drop) and puts less stress on the power supply unit.
The light can be used for a wide range of machine vision applications.
The possible light colors in this series are white and red.
This is precisely where our strength lies. Because planistar manufactures the lights in-house, we can produce customised backlighting with short delivery times.
So you don't have to follow our standard programme. We adapt exactly to your requirements and the conditions on site.
This saves you costs in theOur production processes are planned in such a way that a customised light has almost the same throughput as a standard light. The only difference is that the customised luminaire is precisely documented. This means that we are able to supply replacements even years later.
Benefit from the co-operation with planistar.
Lights direct from the manufacturer
When revising our product series, we always take sustainability into account, as many little things add up to a big picture.
This starts with saving resources and energy, the right choice of materials we use, right through to packaging and disposal.
Originally, planistar had the patent for the edge lighting of light sources and light distribution using a dot grid. We therefore have the knowledge to calculate and manufacture any size.
Our area light guides have the advantage that a uniform light distribution is maintained over the entire service life. The failure of an LED row in the edge area has virtually no effect on the uniformity in the measuring range. With a matrix system, on the other hand, a dark spot is immediately visible.
Of course, we also have the standard matrix systems. These also have their advantages. The backlighting for image processing is usually brighter, so motion blur can be reduced.
In our lights, the LED controllers are always built into the light. This prevents incorrect operation by the customer and prevents accidental damage.
To ensure that the controls meet our quality standards, they are developed in-house. They are manufactured for us in a nearby company.
We see a major advantage for integrating the controller into the luminaire, especially for devices with flash operation. The very high and short strobe current is stored in the lighting fixture and the currents in the supply line are reduced. This reduces the risk of EMC interference.
The internal microcontroller monitors the pulse-pause ratio and only allows a new pulse after 1:5. This prevents the LEDs from overheating and being damaged by the flash operation.
The days when LEDs did not generate any heat are long gone. Due to increasingly powerful technology, it is important to ensure optimum heat management for the entire luminaire.
Because the only death for an LED is heat death. For this reason, the heat at the LEDs determines the service life of the entire luminaire.
Our mostly 2 mm aluminum housings serve as a large cooling surface, which can be supported by additional heat sinks depending on the application.
Our team will be at your disposal for any questions you may have. We will process your request as soon as possible.
