Lightsabers for tricky measuring tasks

Our light saber is ideal for image processing tasks with limited installation space on the measuring surface.

The technology - and therefore also the heat source - is located in an external housing, which is manufactured as a standard module.
The light is directed to the test object via a customized miniature light guide - to where it is needed.

As we are the manufacturer of the lights ourselves, we can offer customized lights with short delivery times and at reasonable prices.

This assembly consists of 2 modules.

Electronic module with LEDs, controller, switching input and sword holder
Lighting unit with 5 mm light guide, 1 mm rear panel and 1 mm cover plate

The individual layers of the light unit are laser-welded as one.
If required, the light guide unit can be ordered individually as a spare part and replaced.

The luminaire can be equipped for a wide range of applications in industrial machine vision in various shades of white, but also in monochrome light colors.

Unsere Fertigungsabläufe sind so geplant, dass eine kundenspezifische Leuchte nahezu den gleichen Durchlauf hat wie eine Standardbeleuchtung. Der einzige Unterschied ist, dass die Sonderleuchte genau Dokumentiert wird. So sind wir auch noch nach Jahren in der Lage, Ersatz zu liefern.

Why lightsabers as miniature light panels?

Lighting technology

Lighting with edge lighting can be kept very small due to its design. By coupling the light into a dot matrix light guide, the light can be selectively decoupled from the base unit.

Special shapes:

Lightsaber as a light tube:
An acrylic tube is illuminated from the inside and can therefore shine 360° outwards.

Lightsaber in the shape of a staff:
The lightsaber can also consist of round rods from approx. 4 mm. Different areas of the round rod can be made to glow.

Basic unit and light guide separated:
The base unit does not have to be firmly connected to the light guide. There can be a gap of approx. 1 mm between the LED unit and the light guide. If required, the LED unit can be permanently mounted and several light sabres can be connected to a rotary indexing table. This means that no current needs to be carried in the rotary indexing table.

Separating heat from light

Heat is only generated in the base unit, which contains the LEDs and the control unit. Due to the acrylic light blade, there is practically no heat transmission.

This means that the light unit can also be used for heat-sensitive test specimens.
